This was the first cruise I ever went on, and I must say that it set my standards pretty high. Previously named the largest cruise ship in the world, before Harmony of the Seas 2016, Allure offers anything and everything you need to have a luxurious week exploring the Caribbean.
Stops: The ship leaves out of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida and stops at 3 beautfiul destinations.
- Labadee, Haiti
- Falmouth, Jamaica
- Cozumel, Mexico
Excursions: The cruise offers excursions that can be booked before or during your cruise depending on availability. There are so many to choose from, but I highly recommend zip lining over the ocean in Haiti ($70). 10/10.
On Board: Being on board there’s nightclubs, bars, karaoke, plays, cafés, pools, game centers, basketball courts, a wave house, and pretty much anything else you could think of. There’s even a central park. I spent most of my time in the 17+ jacuzzi; surrounded with panoramic window views, you truly feel lost at sea- in the best way.
& here’s the best part…. IT’S ALL INCLUSIVE!!! Food, drinks, amenities, shows, activities, all at no cost to you. (some exceptions such as Starbucks)
Now, I must say that a cruise of this sort is meant for the ultimate cruise-lover. If when you travel you are looking for luxury and amenities, all glory to Allure of the Seas. However, for the more adventurous, culture focused traveler, this cruise might feel more like a trap than a haven. Excursions are touristy, the stops are very touristy, and you might find yourself wishing you had spent your money otherwise.
